Dubai: Art and environmental consciousness came together in a remarkable celebration of creativity during “Our Planet, Our Future”, a three-day international art exhibition presented by Art4you Gallery at Art Smiley Gallery Dubai. Curated by internationally recognised curator and creative director Jesno Jackson, the exhibition marked World Environment Day by bringing together artists, cultural leaders, environmental advocates, and art enthusiasts in a powerful dialogue on sustainability through contemporary art.

Featuring 22 artists representing 16 countries, the exhibition demonstrated how artistic expression can become a meaningful platform for raising awareness about environmental challenges while inspiring hope for a more sustainable future. Through an impressive collection of paintings, sculptures, installation art, recycled artworks, digital art, reverse glass paintings, and mixed-media creations, the gallery became a space where creativity and environmental responsibility converged. Participating artists including Abduljabbar Weiss – Syria, Eric Afranie – Ghana, Tariq Al Salman – UAE, Vasilisa Eliseeva – Russia, Thomas Antony – India , Sibel Yavuz – Turkey, Sofia Ali – Azerbaijan, Cristina Gabriela B – Romania, Vineeth Edathil – India, Mobina Mozafari – Iran, Kay  Karthika – India, Tina Azar – Lebanon, Kumar C – India, Ghiath Alrobih – Syria, together with international exhibitors Cristina Alves – Oman / Portugal, Eirini Stefanaki – Greece, Monika Prochaska – Slovakia, Marian Sidlik – Slovakia, Miro Sidlik- Slovakia, Miriam Schnyder- Switzerland, Miroslav Prochazka – Slovakia, Veronika Gisler – Austria, presented diverse artistic perspectives exploring the relationship between humanity and nature. While some works celebrated oceans, forests, wildlife, and biodiversity, others reflected on climate change, resilience, conservation, and humanity’s shared responsibility for protecting the Earth.

The exhibition attracted a wide audience, including artists, collectors, diplomats, educators, media representatives, environmental advocates, and members of the public. The opening ceremony welcomed distinguished guests including H.E. Yaqoob Al Ali, Ahmed Rukni, Maktoum Almarzooqi, Ahmed Al Heifeti, and many other VIPs whose presence reflected the growing importance of collaborations between the cultural and environmental sectors. Visitors were invited to participate in the symbolic Signing the Canvas ceremony before exploring the curated exhibition and engaging directly with participating artists throughout the three-day programme.

Among the exhibition’s highlights were two immersive installations: Resilience in Bloom and Interwoven, which encouraged audiences to experience environmental themes beyond traditional gallery viewing. The installations explored biodiversity, fragile ecosystems, conservation, and humanity’s interconnected relationship with nature, offering visitors an engaging and reflective experience.

The educational programme further enriched the exhibition. Internationally respected artist Abduljabbar Weiss conducted a watercolour masterclass focusing on environmental landscapes, providing participants with valuable technical knowledge while encouraging artistic observation inspired by nature. The closing day featured a thought-provoking panel discussion with Peter Farrington, Dr. Meriem Hammal, and Abeer Abdullah, who shared perspectives on conservation, biodiversity, and the role of storytelling in strengthening environmental awareness through art and culture.

A meaningful sustainability initiative also formed part of the exhibition. In partnership with The Green Revolution DXB, every participating artist received a living Pothos plant as an eco-friendly gift, reinforcing the exhibition’s central message that creativity and environmental stewardship can flourish together beyond the gallery walls.

Speaking about the exhibition’s vision, curator Jesno Jackson emphasised that Our Planet, Our Future was conceived not merely as an exhibition but as an international platform where artists could inspire environmental awareness through creative expression. By combining artistic excellence with educational programmes, installations, workshops, and meaningful dialogue, the exhibition demonstrated how culture can play a significant role in encouraging communities to reflect on the future of the planet.

As visitors departed, they carried with them more than memories of exceptional artworks. They left with renewed appreciation for the natural world and a reminder that every creative act, and every individual action, can contribute to building a more sustainable future. Our Planet, Our Future stands as another significant milestone in Art4you Gallery’s continuing commitment to presenting internationally relevant exhibitions that unite art, culture, education, and environmental responsibility.
