The Pakistan Business Council Sharjah (PBCS) successfully organised a Pakistan–Indonesia B2B Networking Session in Sharjah, bringing together a carefully selected group of business leaders and representatives from the Pakistani and Indonesian business communities to explore opportunities for trade, investment and business collaboration.
The event was attended by H.E. Mr. Denny Lesmana, Consul General of Indonesia to Dubai, Mr. Ali Zeb Khan, Trade and Investment Counsellor of Pakistan to the UAE, and Mr. Widy Haryono, Director, Indonesian Trade Promotion Centre, along with prominent business leaders from both communities.
The session introduced a non-traditional and focused B2B networking format, designed to move beyond formal speeches and provide participating business owners with a practical platform to directly connect with potential counterparts.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Saleem Akhtar, Senior Vice Chairman, Pakistan Business Council Sharjah, welcomed the Indonesian delegation and highlighted the importance of developing practical and result-oriented business relationships.
He said that PBCS had deliberately invited a selective group of business leaders representing diverse sectors to ensure that the meeting remained focused on genuine business opportunities. He added that PBCS has members representing almost every major business sector and that the Council is ready to identify relevant Pakistani counterparts whenever Indonesian businesses require potential partners.
A New Approach to B2B Networking
The event was described as a significant step towards introducing a new style of business networking in Sharjah. For the first time in Sharjah, two different business councils came together in a dedicated B2B format, giving business owners from both sides the opportunity to interact directly rather than limiting the event to conventional speeches and introductions.
The initiative resulted in a highly interactive session, with a number of business owners from Pakistan and Indonesia fixing one-to-one follow-up meetings to explore potential partnerships, trade opportunities and collaboration.
Amir Hassan, Vice Chairman, Pakistan Business Council Sharjah, appreciated the initiative and said that meaningful business relationships are developed when business leaders are given the opportunity to communicate directly with one another. He highlighted the importance of follow-up after the event so that the discussions could be translated into practical business opportunities.
Khalid Chudhary, Director Advisory Board, Pakistan Business Council Sharjah, welcomed the participation of the Indonesian business community and emphasised the value of building long-term relationships between businesses. He said that such networking initiatives provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to understand each other’s markets and identify areas where cooperation can create mutual benefit.
Muhammad Yaseen, Director Membership, Pakistan Business Council Sharjah, also appreciated the participation of members and guests and stressed the importance of active engagement by the business community. He said that the success of such initiatives depends not only on the networking session itself but also on continued communication and follow-up between participating businesses.
H.E. Mr. Denny Lesmana, Consul General of Indonesia to Dubai, appreciated the initiative taken by PBCS to bring the two business communities together and encouraged greater interaction between Pakistani and Indonesian businesses.
Mr. Ali Zeb Khan, Trade and Investment Counsellor of Pakistan to the UAE, also addressed the gathering and shared valuable insights on strengthening trade and investment relations and encouraging greater private-sector engagement between the two countries.
As a gesture of appreciation and respect, the Pakistan Business Council Sharjah presented flowers and commemorative plaques to H.E. Mr. Denny Lesmana and Mr. Ali Zeb Khan in recognition of their participation and support for stronger business relations.

The networking session provided participants with an opportunity to introduce their businesses, exchange ideas, identify potential areas of cooperation and establish direct contacts with prospective business partners.
