Ajman, In a significant step towards enhancing bilateral trade and investment relations between Pakistan and Indonesia, a delegation of the Pakistan Business Council Sharjah (PBCS) had the honour of meeting H.E. Mr. Judha Nugraha, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Arab Emirates, and H.E. Mr. Denny Lesmana, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Dubai, during a productive meeting held today at a local restaurant in Ajman.
Despite being arranged at very short notice, the meeting reflected the strong commitment of both sides to deepen economic cooperation and build lasting partnerships between the business communities of Pakistan and Indonesia.
The PBCS delegation was led by Mr. Syed Saleem Akhtar, Senior Vice Chairman, and included Mr. Amir Hassan, Vice Chairman. On behalf of the Council, Mr. Amir Hassan warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and presented an overview of the Pakistan Business Council Sharjah, highlighting its achievements, initiatives, and continued efforts in promoting trade, investment, networking, and business development among the Pakistani business community in the UAE.
The discussions focused on identifying new avenues for bilateral trade, investment, business networking, and institutional collaboration. Both sides agreed to organize a joint business networking session in Sharjah in the near future, bringing together members of the Pakistan Business Council Sharjah and the Indonesian business community. It was also agreed in principle to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a formal framework for cooperation, facilitate business-to-business connections, encourage investment, and create new commercial opportunities for entrepreneurs and investors from both countries.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Syed Saleem Akhtar, Senior Vice Chairman of Pakistan Business Council Sharjah, said:
“Pakistan and Indonesia enjoy longstanding brotherly relations built on mutual respect and shared values. The Pakistan Business Council Sharjah is committed to serving as a bridge between the business communities of our two friendly nations. Today’s meeting marks the beginning of a stronger partnership that will create new opportunities in trade, investment, and business networking. We look forward to welcoming the Indonesian business community to Sharjah and translating today’s discussions into meaningful results for our members.”
H.E. Mr. Judha Nugraha, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the UAE, appreciated the efforts of the Pakistan Business Council Sharjah and stated:
“Indonesia highly values its friendship with Pakistan and welcomes closer engagement between our private sectors. We appreciate the proactive initiatives taken by the Pakistan Business Council Sharjah and look forward to working together to promote trade, investment, and stronger business linkages. The proposed joint business forum and MoU will provide an excellent platform for creating new partnerships and expanding economic cooperation between our two countries.”
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to maintaining regular engagement and working together to strengthen economic ties between Pakistan and Indonesia through practical business initiatives and institutional collaboration.
