From a simple thread transformed into a handcrafted piece to an engineering idea brought to life, 75 participants at the House of Wisdom Summer Camp took part in two activities that combined hands-on learning with creativity and practical skills.
During the “Make Your Own Summer Crochet Bag” workshop, participants learned the fundamentals of crochet and techniques for making bags using recycled T-shirt yarn, choosing their own colours and details to give each piece a personal touch. The workshop combined creative expression with the precision of crochet, while showing how recycled materials can find new life through craft.
At the Al Jazari FabLab, the “Elite Engineer Summer Camp” took students from theory to hands-on practice. Participants learned to use tools safely, perform basic repairs, and read technical drawings while exploring the fundamentals of construction, electrical work, and vehicle maintenance. They also developed their public-speaking and presentation skills, learning how to communicate their ideas with confidence.
